By the end of Grade 2 students are expected to know their basic addition and subtraction facts to 18 (using mental math strategies such as doubles, fact families, friendly numbers, etc.). By grade 3, students should be able to recall these answers quickly and accurately. I have sent home some activity sheets you can use to help your child at home to prepare them for our upcoming addition and subtraction units. In Grade 3 we will be focusing on adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers. We will have limited time to review basic math facts in class so practicing at home would benefit your child greatly. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
