Our class has teamed up with another grade 3 class at Billy Green School to become pen pals! For the past few weeks, our class has been working on writing friendly letters and all of this practice came in handy last week when students wrote their first letter to their assigned pen pal. I am hoping to have all of the good copies finished this week so we can send them in the mail!
The class is now working on writing descriptive paragraphs using their five sense (sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste). We have reviewed parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives) and are working on using “juicy” words to paint a picture in the readers’ mind. To go along with this, we are focusing on visualizing as we read.
